Problem with nonstop backup of (Valve's) steamapps !Workshop folder

Thread needs solution

I tried to set up a nonstop backup of the !workshops subfolder of  Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ\!Workshop (the specific game probably doesn't matter), and on the setup, and on the 'change source' page it seemed like it ought to work, with the subfolders (beginning with @, and having the redirect arrows in the file explorer view) having their contents shown and checked to appear in the backup.  But in restore, the @files appear mostly as folders, not as individual files, and their contents were not copied.  The ancient 'Synchronize It! 3.5'  from 2009 copes these directories without issues

Some screenshots attached, note that non-redirected folder !DO_NOT_CHANGE... got backed up as a folder, as desired.  Perhaps there is some setting that I haven't noticed?

Avery, sorry but I have zero experience in backing up Steam game applications or their folders.

When you refer to folders beginning with @ and redirect arrows, are these actually redirected to another location and if so, where is that location?  Is it a local drive or somewhere else?

Non Stop Backup will be looking for changes in the source data every 5 minutes so when looking at the Restore panel contents you need to bear that in mind, i.e. your restore panel image is only showing changes captured at the date and time selected at the top, - 8:14AM on that particular day.

It is possible that some folders will be locked by the Steam app if the game was active when the backup is trying to run.

Hello,

I suggest that you raise a ticket with our support at https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153. The issue must be investigated. Feel free to update the thread if you have any additional comments or a solution from our support.

Best regards.

Part of the problem may be the non-stop cleanup rules. It removes all but the last backup for each day - the process is explained in the user guide. I cannot recall the precise process as I do not use non-stop backup.
