Starting a new backup

Thread solved

Now I have all my files and programs back, I want to start a new backup.  When I open Acronis, and click on Backup and then click on backup now, the progress bar says "Queued" and nothing.  There is nothing on the progress bar.  What am I doing wrong here?

Paul, have you created a new backup task that is giving you the queued status, or is this an existing task?  If the latter, have you reselected the Source and Destination for the task after doing any recovery actions?

Queued normally indicates that Acronis believes there is another task that is currently active but this can sometimes be a phantom task that will need to be cleared out.

To clear out any phantom tasks, you need to download the stand-alone Acronis Scheduler Manager tool (link below) then run this which will produce a black command prompt window.

In the window, type the command: task zap

The command will clear all existing scheduled tasks that Acronis has stored, so after using it, you will need to reschedule your backup tasks in the main GUI.

Note: do a restart of Windows after using the task zap command to clear the current phantom task causing the queued status.
