aberrant backup chain deletion

Thread needs solution

I have a daily backup that is configured to create a full backup after every 13 incremental backups and keep 4 version chains. The backup source is an Windows 11 PC and the destination is a NAS device on my local network. I am running Cyber Protect Home Office build 39703. This had been working as configured for several months. Then recently the following has happened. The day after a full back ran, the program deleted the 4 previous version chains and created another full backup. Then it proceeded to create 2 incremental backups before deleting the existing version chain and creating a new full backup. As of today it has created 2 incremental backups.

Thoughts about this pathalogical behavior are welcomed.
