Acronis "backup completed" email function and OAuth2 compliant

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office on a Windows 10 64 bit PC.

When the Acronis backup is run and is completed I have successfully used a Gmail address to have Acronis send a notification email that the backup was completed. This has worked perfectly for the several years that I have used Acronis. The end of May 2022 Gmail sent me an email stating they are updating their email security to require email apps (I assume including Acronis) to be OAuth2 compliant effective May 29, 2022. This is when the Acronis email feature stopped working for me.

Because I recently started having this email failure I assume the Acronis email app/function is not OAuth2 compliant. I do not have issues using my Gmail address on my Windows 10 desktop PC, my Apple iPhone and iPad because the email apps on those devices are OAuth2 complaint.

I have uploaded a screenshot of the Acronis email setup screen and the authentication error message I get when I try to send a test email message.

Can someone please help me with this issue.

Thanks very much Bill

Bill, please see forum topic: How to get email notifications to GMAIL now that Goggle is shutting down less secure app access May 30, 2022 - which documents a work-around for Gmail users.
