Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office froze during installation

Thread needs solution

Hello

I attempted to upgrade my Acronis True Image 2021 subscription to Cyber Protect Home Office The upgrade package downloaded and started to install however it froze. When I attempted to close the installation box it said it was 'repairing', however that also froze. I am now unable to open ATI 2021. How can I fix this?

Thanks very much

William, do you have a recent backup of your Windows disk from prior to the upgrade attempt from ATI 2021 to ACPHO - if so, then you could restore this to get back to the prior state of play.

Otherwise, first try doing a Windows restart to see if that clears the current lock state, then I would suggest uninstalling whatever the version of ATI or ACPHO is by using the Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features uninstall option, then either doing a clean install of 2021 or of ACPHO.

If you want to revert back to 2021 and wait on ACPHO maturing more, then would suggest downloading and using the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link below) after doing the uninstall, followed by another Windows Restart.  You will need to recreate your backup tasks but you should be able to use the option to 'Add existing backup' followed by 'Reconfigure'.

Further note: if installing ACPHO please ensure that you use build #39620 released yesterday rather than the initial build #39615 released the day before!

Hi Steve,

No I don't have a recent backup of my Windows disk.

Re-starting cleared the frozen installation.

I tried to uninstall ACTI 2021 however when I went through Control Panel, Uninstall ACTI, I got the User Account Control box with Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? and when I clicked Yes, nothing happened. I tried this several times after re-starting and each time nothing happened.

Thank you.
