Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office on Mac Persistent Error
Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office on PC runs smoothly & without errors. However, same cannot be said for my Mac. I continue to receive "The last backup failed. Unknown error". The error log (below) says "error 0xfff1: Resource deadlock avoided" (among other things) and no matter what I do to try and resolve it, its unsuccessful.
Since I am testing the software as a trial before buying, if I cannot backup my Mac, I'll have to look for another solution (I really want to use Acronis, though).
Environment : MacOS Catalina ver. 10.15.7 Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office ver. 26.0.39605
Solutions tried :
a) First Aid on Mac. Errors found. Couldn't correct errors.
b) Reformatted disk. Restored from Time Machine backup. Ran First Aid. No errors found.
c) Deleted backup job each attempt. Deleted any partial backup completed each attempt.
d) Uninstalled Acronis software. Downloaded and reinstalled software.
e) Error received regardless of backup destination (NAS or Acronis Cloud)
f) Opened a support ticket. Haven't heard back yet.
SO, HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM OR HAVE ANY SOLUTION RECOMMENDATIONS ?

Steve-
Thanks for the recommendation. Since posting this question, I did hear back from Acronis support asking me to try it again with the new build, but (alas) still receiving the same error.

Rob, I guess that you are going to have to work directly with Acronis support on this issue and keep the conversation going with them.
Just looking at the snippet of log data you posted above;
| error 0xfff1: Resource deadlock avoided
..
| function: read
| path: /System/Volumes/Data/Users/RobLinda/Library/Mobile Documents.1073438692/com~apple~mail/Data/MailData/ubiquitous_SyncedSmartMailboxes.plist
| code: 0xb
Have you tried the backup when your mail client is not active / running? The above seems to be suggesting some conflict happening in that area?

Hi Steve
I am having the same trouble with similar error messages and behaviour. Currently on latest version 26.1.39702 and running Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1. Tried similar things to you and getting nowhere.

Scott, welcome to these public User Forums.
Sorry but I am not a Mac user and my earlier responses were just an attempt at helping but where the conclusion was to ask the user to work directly with Acronis Support by opening a support ticket.

You could also try posting on the Acronis True Image for Mac Forum as there may be someone who frequents that forum that has found a solution.

Pretty much the same problem here. Cyber Protect Home Office, latest build, Mac OS 12.5.1.
Nothing seems to fix this issue. My subscription lasts for sixty days and it is unlikely I'll renew it.

Russell, please check that you do actually have the most recent ACPHO build #40106 which was only released on August 30th.
See sticky forum topic: NEW Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office is released! for details and direct download links.

Hi Steve,
Yes, in fact, I tried build #40106, which was supplied by Acronis support. I noted that it was a beta version, at least that's the one they provided a link for. Still wouldn't create a backup. Sent the log files to Acronis, but I still haven't heard back.

Russell, build #40106 is not a beta version but is the first released version for ACPHO 2023 after the beta programme ended hence the public announcement in the forum topic I linked.
If you don't get a reasonable response from Acronis Support then try sending a private message to Ekaterina Surkova who is one of the forum moderators (include your support case number in the message).
If that doesn't help move things on, then contact Arpita Ghosh who is the Acronis Product Manager for these home products!

Steve, thanks for the update. The version of 40106 Acronis Support provided was a beta. Will try again and will contact Ms. Sorokina if further support is required. I appreciate your guidance in this matter.

Still no joy. Using ACHPO build #40106. Error log attached.
Will contact Ms. Sorokina next week.
