Acronis update disaster

Thread needs solution

Hi, recently Acronis issued an update to their new version of the software with the confusion of changing the name.

Like a mug, I let the update run and stupidly, given previous problems with the software, I did not read the accompanying caveats with this update. When I checked my weekly Monday updates this week, I discovered that it had changed all my full backups to incremental and weird things happened during the process of the back-up to some by it creating copies of the backup routines. It then failed to let me correct the options and at one point just closed the program monitoring.

I have ended up uninstalling the program, cleaning my system's registry I then re-installed version Acronis True Image 2020, Build 22510. This was followed by having to re-enter all the backup routines revering them back to FULL copies. This has resulted in my losing my historic copies. Once more it has sent in train a thought to find a more reliable back-up system and me having to face the penalty of losing the cost of my current contract.

I am not a happy bunny.

John, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry to read of your update woes, none of which should have impacted you or your existing backups!

The further downside of updating from ATI 2020 to ACPHO is that you would be moving from your perpetual licensed product to a new subscription license after a 30-day trial period!

You are probably best keeping with ATI 2020 if it does all you want from it!
