Another major headache

Thread needs solution

Made two backups of win10 MBR boot before attempting a Win 11 upgrade. Got thoroughly sick of all the checks and crosschecks so abandoned it and restored my win 10 backup which won't boot. Checked that the recovery disk was MBR and the bios too but no luck. Once again MS's easy upgrade has landed me in the pool
What the H... can I do ?

Thanks in advance.

I too have had a upgrade to Windows 11 go badly wrong. Not sure what went wrong for you with the recovery. I am assuming that MBR was appropriate. My understanding is that Windows will not boot from an M.2 if Legacy (and MBR is selected); you need GPT and boot set to windows boot manager.

Thanks Ian.

I got my Win10 back using the following method :-

1. Did a new Win 10 install on a GPT Disk.

2. Recovered my NTFS partition only to the disk with Acronis

3 And it worked!

Excellent news
