Are Acronis and Carbonite Compatible?
For years, I have used Carbonite on my computer. I recently added Acronis. Are they compatible?

The product is Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office Essentials. I have used Carbonite for years to backup my files. Many years ago Carbonite also created a mirror or whatever you want to call the thing when it copies everything on your computer (as Acronis does) so I wouldn't have to reload programs, etc. in case of a disaster. Then they stopped doing that and I've missed having the sense of security that it brought to me. That's why I bought Acronis. So the main reason is to have the ability if there is a disaster to get my computer the way it was before the disaster – without loading programs, making settings, etc. And to be able to boot up. At the same time, Carbonite is still backing up my files.
I have Acronis and Carbonite on both my laptop and my desktop. On my laptop, Acronis works perfectly. No problem with both of these programs being on the same computer there. However, I have had lots of problems with my desktop and Acronis failing to backup sometimes. I am in touch with Acronis tech support, and have another remote session set up for this coming Sunday. The frustrating thing for me (and I'm sure for the tech) is that it can backup perfectly four times in a row and then even though I haven't changed anything, it fails for the next two times. So that's why I was wondering – despite my great experience on the laptop – if it were possible they were interfering with each other. I just spoke with Carbonite support, and the person there doubted it. However, she did say that as an experiment, I can tell Carbonite to not be backing up while Acronis is. So I'll try that. Thanks

Thanks for the further information. As far as I can see, the way you are using the programs should not be causing any issues.

Yes, thanks. I continued to have my backup problems with Acronis whether I paused Carbonite. These random Acronis backup failures are driving my a little crazy. I'm, hoping The next virtual session I have with an Acronis tech will finally solve the problem. Problems.
