Backup - Exclusions not working

Thread needs solution

Hey together,

I am using Acronis for a while now for my Backups. With the installation of Windows 11 some weeks ago, I created a new backup plan. As this backup plan is also backing up some folders that are not necessary for me, I wanted to exclude them from the backup. To do so, I went to the options of the backup, then to the exclusions tab (I think thats the english translation, its a list of patterns for files/folders to exclude) and tried to add stuff there, e.g.: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\AMD\*

The moment I press enter, the entry I just added disappears. Even worse: If I double-click at an existing entry to edit it and just press enter to safe it in the exact form it was before, it also disappears.

Any Ideas? Or this is a possible bug?

Niklas, welcome to these public User Forums.

First question: what type of backup are you using for this topic?

Is it a Disks & Partitions backup or is it a Files & Folders one?

If it is for Files & Folders, then the simple reason for the behaviour you describe is because your Source selection includes e.g.: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\AMD\ and therefore it would make no sense to exclude the same path.

For this type of backup, go back into the Source selection and remove the path there by deselecting it.
