Cloneing with a PCIe ssd hard drive

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office Build 39703 on a Windows 64 bit computer with all Windows updates installed.

To clone the computer, I start the clone process, select Automatic mode, and do the usual processes of selecting the source and destination disks. I indicate that the disk would replace a disk on the source computer.

I select Proceed and after less than 10 seconds, the Disk Cloning Process dialog box comes up saying “The disk was successfully cloned” however there is nothing on the destination disk. This has happened several times.

The problem may be because the computer does not have a traditional hard drive (HD) for C: that connects to the Mother Board with a traditional HD cable. C: is a RAM type container directly connected to the Mother Board with no cable. The C: Properties dialog box identifies C: as “PCIe SSD”. So it seems possible that the problem is related to cloning a PCIe SSD drive.

Does anybody have thoughts on if the PCIe SSD drive is the source of the problem or any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

I can be reached at wwpearce@comcast.net

Warren, sorry but I am not sure that I understand your description of your source drive here?

I would assume that it is probably a PCIe NVMe M.2 type SSD which is similar in size & shape to a normal memory module.

I would recommend removing your email address from your post above as this is a public forum and it may be harvested by any spam bots!

Download a copy of the MVP Assistant log viewer tool and use this to look at the logs to see if they show any issues during the operation process?

The latest version of the new log viewer tool is at the link below.
MVP Assistant update for Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (Version 1.1.6.0)

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) or using Cloning then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

The Schedule2 log contains information related to scheduled task but is one of the more difficult logs to read / work through.

The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.
