Connecting LAN Drive when using Rescue Media

Thread needs solution

Is there a way to connect a LAN drive when using the Cyber Protect Home Office Rescue Disk? I tried to use the net use command from the command shell after I booted up using the Rescue Disk but I couldn't get it to work. The command I used was: net use Z: "\\10.0.1.23\other backup\acronis" Password /user:admin  . What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Bob

Bob, how are you connected to your LAN on the PC where you are booting from rescue media?

Ideally, it is best to be using a wired network connection as there is far more support for Ethernet controllers than there is for wireless ones!

The first check point is to try pinging any systems on your local network, and check that a valid IP address has been allocated to your PC.

ipconfig           will show if you have an IP address allocated.

ping 10.0.1.23       will show if you can reach this device.

Hi Steve. Thanks for your response.

I actually gave up on the Acronis Rescue Disc process, not because I couldn't figure out how to map a network drive but because when I booted up on the rescue disk I created, my Win 11 system wouldn't accept keyboard input. The Acronis techs tried their best but I finally gave up on them and decided to go back to the MVP tool that I have used successfully in the past. Unfortunately when I booted on the rescue disk produced from the MVP tool, Cyber Protect wouldn't launch and I troubleshooted to the point where I realized that my system thought my C: drive was corrupted (not the case). I wrote to the forum (see https://forum.acronis.com/forum/topic/cant-create-working-mvp-rescue-di…) and thus far haven't received a response. Can you or one of the other MVP experts help?

Thanks, Bob
