High disk/network activity usage every 10 minutes

Thread solved

We have acronis cyber protect home (acph) latest version installed. I was noticing our network getting quite slow randomly throughout the day.   We do NOT have any backups scheduled during the day, only during the night at 11pm.

But seemingly around every 10 minutes our disk and network usage skyrockets from ACPH doing something.  I suspect it is something with the antimalware components of ACPH maybe?  This is happening on at least 2 of our computers.  Here is a screen shot where it is using 13+Mbps of data and a good chunk of disk activity as well.

Anyone else have this issue?  How to fix?

Joe, this would not have anything to do with scheduled backup tasks. Most likely the Cyber Protect may be trying to get updated as the process is repeated often during the day to check for protection database updates.

In the ACPHO GUI, look at the Protection Settings under the Advanced tab and see if it may be trying to get an update. You can always set it to manually update. While there, just review all your settings. Be sure there is no conflict of Acronis with another A/V product on you machine.

It's not uncommon for a new installation to take some time to get everything downloaded. Ho new is the installation? Is this issue something that started with a new install or was it working smoothly before?

 Hi BrunoC,

Thanks very much for your response.   I went to both computer today to check for the behavior and they both seem fine now.   It no longer has excessive resource usage.   I didn't change anything.  Maybe there was some sort of problem with the av update server and our software.

Glad it's OK, Joe. Should be good going forward. Yes, issues with the update server can be problematic, but usually not for long.
