How do you turn off all the background processes?
Hello Acronis,
How do you fully turn off all of the background processes in True Image 2021 that is slowing my computer down?
You can tell it is True Image 2021 that is causing the issues as if I restore an image prior to installing True Image 2021. My computers performance isn't sluggish or has any delays in opening other programs. However when I restore an image where True Image 2021 is installed. The slow downs of opening applications and over all sluggishness comes back.
Please fix your software. Thanks.

See KB 65464: Acronis True Image 2021: Windows services and processes which lists which of these can be stopped but understand that there are some unstoppable services! Active Protection, Cyber Protection & AAKORE !!
Before attempting to stop these background services, open the Protection panel and take the option to 'Turn off all Protection permanently!' and wait for this to be completed. This will still leave the background associated services running but with minimal activity.
You can open the Settings panels for Protection (click on the Settings button in lower right corner) and turn off each individual feature to ensure that everything is being disabled - check that the Vulnerability Scan option is disabled as this can be long running when first enabled, plus turn off the automatic check for new protection updates on the Advanced panel.
If you really do want to turn off & stop all background services, then you would need to check that you do not have a subscription license for ATI 2021 as some services are used in conjunction with the subscription!
The other alternative, assuming that you have only purchased ATI 2021 very recently, would be to ask for a refund and go back to an earlier version of ATI without all the extra protection features!

None of these methods worked for me on ATI 2021, I still had about a dozen processes running. What I did to solve it was use Task Manager to locate the executable files for each of those processes and rename them by appending "RENAMED" to the file names. Worked like a charm, and I can easily re-rename all those files if I want those processes back.
Note; however: The only Acronis tool I use is Disc Cloning. That made it easy for me because all those unnecessary processes were about backup, protection, etc., for which I use other software.
