How to Transfer backup settings from another drive

Thread solved

My system drive died going to Win 11. I have rebuilt the Win 10 system afresh and installed Acronis 2021. The old system drive still available has all the data on it. How can I copy the backup settings from the old to the new?

Natrei, ideally the settings should have been exported to a zip file using the options provided at the bottom of the main Settings page in the ATI 2021 GUI application, but if you have not done this prior to the problem with Windows 11, then the process is a little more complicated.

What you now need to do is to make a copy of the C:\ProgramData\Acronis folder from the old system drive and copy this to the new working drive.  If you have already reinstalled ATI 2021 as part of rebuilding the PC, then it would be best to uninstall it again as otherwise Acronis Active Protection will want to prevent the new files being overwritten by the older ones!

Once you have copied back the Acronis folder content, install ATI 2021 again and it should find your existing backup task settings etc.

Hi Steve,

Thanks, that worked.

I uninstalled ATI 2021 , copied over the old Acronis folder and installed the latest ATI update just released.

When I go to backup, I can see my old backup task, great!!.

I haven't tried it yet but I guess it should be ok.

I then tied to clone which I have been having issues with but the latest update didn't fix that.

I'll start that in another thread. :)
