Installer fails on Macbook Pro Mac OS 10.14.6

Thread needs solution

Hi,

unfortunately I can't install Cyber Protect Home Office on my Macbook Pro (Mid 2015). The installer worked fine on my Mac Pro (Mid 2010) with the same OS running (Mojave 10.14.6)

But on my Macbook Pro the installer won't start at all. I can choose "show package contents" and start the installer from the Terminal, but then it hangs shortly before the end of installation when executing the scripts.

I tried safe boot mode as well but I can't run the installer.

I have no more ideas after trying for hours. Can't reach the Acronis support by phone unfortunately (I have a paid subscription)

Is anyone able to help?

Andreas,

A kb article says the following:

On macOS High Sierra 10.13, Mojave 10.14, or Catalina 10.15, you need to grant access to Acronis International GmbH after the installation. It is required for loading kernel extensions in order to have all the protection features. Please do the following:

  • Open System Preferences.
  • Go to the General tab of Security & Privacy.
  • Click Allow to accept the prompt that appears.

Now you can use your Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office.

After installation, you will need to activate your software: see Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office: How to activate license

kb 69387

Hope this helps

I granted access already (of course).

I think the problem is that I had Acronis True Image 2019 installed previously and it’s not completely deleted from my Macbook. I can't find an uninstaller to remove True Image 2019 completely.

I'm afraid there are some files or caches existing that prevent installing the new software.

See KB 48668: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, Acronis True Image: Cleanup Utility which has tools for both Windows and Mac PC's.

Unfortunately I still can't execute the installer for Cyber Protect Home Office although I used the Clean Up tool to delete True Image.

Andreas, if you have not already done so, may I suggest posting on the Acronis True Image for Mac Forum, including a link to this thread.
