Licensing

Thread needs solution

So, Acronis was lusting after Adobe's cash flow and went with eternal renewal of their licenses. No more buy it, own it; that only gives fresh income every couple of years based on the product having new features or just generally improving.

So, I will have to wait until True image no longer satisfies my needs and then find a different company for my backup solutions. I refuse to reward companies for bad or anti-consumer practices. Too bad, it was quite a superior product in its day and inspired my loyalty through many an edition.

Michael, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you are using one of the more recent versions of ATI such as 2018 or later, then it should continue to work for you even if you upgrade to Windows 11.  (I have tested ATI 2019 with Win 11 without any obvious issues!).

Yes, I know. It is annoying. If you just want to buy a good and reliable backup solution, Acronis can no longer deliver that.

The good thing with that is that the competition will get more customers and that will lead to increased development activity on their side.

I agree that rewarding companies with this kind of anti-cosumer behaviour is not something I want to do.

No more Acronis for me privately and I will investigate alternatives at work as that is also my responsibility.
