MBR Error 1
Hello. I've used Acronis several times to create bootable USB Media that I then use to create a .tib drive backup. Today however I am experiencing some difficulty.
I created USB bootable media using the Windows 7 AIK. However when I try and boot from this on the target PC I'd like to backup, I get a "MBR Error 1" message. The system boots normally when the USB drive isn't inserted.
The PC creating the media (with Acronis on it) is windows 10. I am using a64 GB SanDisk USB stick.
The PC I'd like to backup is a much older Windows XP machine (an offline machine running a scientific instrument).
Any thoughts as to whats causing this error, or how I can work around it?

Thanks Steve. I got it working by just using a different USB stick. For whatever reason a 64 GB SanDisk 'Cruzer' USB 2.0 did not work but a 32 GB Sansung USB 3.0 stick did work.
For future reference I'd like to make sure I understand your post though.
I am indeed using the latest version of ACPHO.
Doesn't the AIK version just install the PE version of that OS on the stick? I don't understand why the host machine being Windows 10 matters. Are you certain about this?
I chose the Win 7 AIK because I figured it would likely be the most compatible with the hold hardware on the target system.

Adam, there can be issues with USB sticks larger than 32GB as described in KB 58108: Acronis products: using USB sticks with more than 32GB capacity
I understand your view on choosing the Win 7 AIK but it is recommended to match the ADK to the Host system where it is installed, and in reality Win 10 has better support for hardware in most cases.
Good to read that you were successful with the smaller USB media!
