Mysterious Restore Operation

Thread needs solution

I had a 'Succesfully restored to original location' in my activity log, which I have no recollection of doing (don't think I was even at the PC at that time, but obviously wouldn't happen without some trigger) could anyone point me in the direction of a log file which might show what was restored?

DrMopp, not something I have ever seen. You can view logs using MVP Assistant - a new tool, including new Log Viewer (Latest version 1.1.4.0, 9/27/2021). The log files to look for differ depending on the architecture used by the backup - *.tib or *.tibx.

  • If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.
  • If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) then look in the Demon logs.

It just occurred to me that this may be due to restoring of compromised files by one of the Cyber Protect modules. But in my limited experience that requires user intervention.

Thanks Ian, the backups are .tibx files so the Backup Worker logs it is. However there are only two logs on the date in question, and neither contains a restore operation.  I made the mistake of deleting the backup settings before investigating this (!???)  so no way of getting back to the original activity message. Guess It's a case of 'if it happens again...' etc.

Thanks for the update.

Good thought, but no, protection in ACPHO is and always has been turned off as another security product is installed.
