Notifications "Protection is not up to date" when I have Protection turned off permanently?

Thread needs solution

I use Bitdefender for my cyberprotection, and have heeded Acronis' warning that both protection methods should not run at the same time (Windows 10) - and so I have Acronis protection turned permanently off.

Since the new CyberProtect version update, I am getting tray icon notifications that Protection is not up to date. I cannot download an update without turning Protection back on. What the heck?

I just wanted a backup program - why won't Acronis continue to offer that option? They were so good at it!

Please report this direct to Acronis Support by opening a support case as this is changed behaviour from ATI 2021 where having protection turned off does not generate such tray notifications!  It seems like Acronis is still checking for protection updates regardless of the user choice to turn off all protection permanently in favour of using a different security application!

Quick update: just checked the system where I am running ACPHO with all protection turned off in favour of using Windows Defender and I am not seeing any tray icon notifications about the protection database being out dated!

I have build #39620 of ACPHO installed.
