Older TIB files

Thread needs solution

I've moved to a new computer and have older TIB with important files. I need to view and restore files from these TIBs. I've read through various posts here on the subject, but double-clicking TIB files and all other options have failed. Since Acronis (any version) created these TIB files, it should be allow you to view the contents and restore files. So bottom line, I've used various versions of Acronis over the years to backup different computers, and now none of those files are accessible. There should be an option in Acronis that simply allows you to open an older TIB file, see its contents and restore. If I'm missing something, let me know. Thanks!

Ric, welcome to these public User Forums.

Have you installed a copy of Acronis True Image on your new computer and is this the same version or a more recent version than the one used to create the older .tib files?

This is what is needed to open any .tib files, along with those files being complete and not missing any parts that comprise version chains that were created previously.

If you want to open these older .tib files directly within the Acronis GUI then you need to add them there first - you do this by using the option to 'Add existing backup' and selecting the most recent files for each different .tib version chain.  The option is found by clicking on the caret 'v' to the right of the normal + Add backup option.
