OneDrive Files Not Saving To Image

Thread needs solution

I have OneDrive set to "keep all files on this device". I use the rescue media off a flash drive to back up my computer (have for many years...works well). The image shows the OneDrive file names but they won't launch. They also restore to a zero-byte file. The behavior is appropriate if the files are not sync'd locally, but they are...so why is this happening?

Sorry but it sounds very much like some of your OneDrive files are not actually being stored locally.

If you are only doing backups using rescue media, then there are no logs that can be checked to confirm if this is the case or not?  You would need to capture the log from the rescue media when you next do a backup, save it to your USB media then look at it for messages about files not able to be captured.

I have never seen any issues with rescue media and OneDrive but haven't been looking for any either.

I just checked a couple of backup tasks, and there are no issues with my backups of my OneDrive. The backups were made from within Windows rather than using recovery media.

Do you also use Microsoft 365 (aka Microsoft Office 365); I am asking because I use Microsoft 365. That PC is running Windows 10 x64 Enterprise, and I m using ATI 2021 rather than ACPHO. Checked with another PC which uses Windows 11 Pro x64 and latest build of ACPHO and everything is being backed up.

Microsoft is continually tinkering with things, so the version and build of Windows being used may have an impact.

Update: Checked a backup made wing recovery media back in October and everything was backed up. The recovery media was created using the MVP Tool, but that should not make any difference.
