PCMag review of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office

Nothing really surprising (only that they bothered to test it at all as it is merely ATI 2021 rebranded without any new features or performance improvements). The relatively slow Cloud backup reflects views expressed by many users on the Forum.

-------------------------------

People only talk about the security features and the cloud, as if there was only the cloud.

Local backups, boot media and restoring disk backups are mentioned in passing, but nothing is tested.

I think the tested upload rate for the Acronis Cloud for the year 2021, is too bad.

I was struck by this too. The first sentence of the review is "Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (formerly called Acronis True Image) is an easy-to-use and robust online backup solution for protecting files and disk images in the cloud." That immediately set the stage for a limited backup discussion.

Based on this review, I was a bit surprised it received Editor's Choice designation.

G. Uphoff,

I find the European complaints about upload speed something to aspire to for much of the rest of the world.  I have coax cable internet service here in the USA and below is a snippet of my cloud performance.

Ian,

I have noticed an improvement in GUI responsiveness with the release of the current product version.  The interface seems to be much more responsive to clicks now then in previous versions.  Other than that I see a reduced percentage of services resources in use on my install.  Other than that I see no differences.

Bob, I did not notice the award designation until after I posted - bit surprised.

Like you I have cable internet connection, currently 100/40 but soon to become 100/20 for reasons I will not go into. The speeds I am getting are similar to those in your post.

Ian

PS Not yet got around to installing the latest build on most of my systems - other more urgent things requiring my attention.
