Protection was not updated problem 0x00641451

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office build 39703 running on Win 10. The Protection section started today showing "Protection was not updated". When opening the program it shows two dialogs saying "Activating scheduler service..." but it doesn't manager to activate it. I rebooted but I got the same problem and error code 0x00641451.

The Detected vulnerabilities function works but Run full scan and Run quick scan say: "Cannot run Antivirus scan." Should I be worried of an infection?

My Win 10 version details:

Edition    Windows 10 Pro
Version    21H1
Installed on    ‎16.‎6.‎2020
OS build    19043.1320
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

The last Win updates I installed were:

KB5006670: 2021-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems

KB5007050: 2021-10 .NET Core 3.1.20 Update for x64 Client

Joel, welcome to these public User Forums.

First question here: do you have any other security or antivirus software installed on your PC other than the integrated Windows Defender?

If you do, then you should not attempt to enable Acronis Cyber Protect alongside another security product as having two such applications active can cause serious issues!

See KB 67117: Acronis True Image 2021: using two or more antivirus solutions on the same computer is not recommended

Note: the above does not apply to Windows Defender as this gets turned off if Cyber Protect is enabled.

Joel,

If the Protection feature was working and now it is not then I would suggest that you make sure you are still signed into your Acronis account.

In the GUI click on the Account tab.  Looking at the top right of the windows you will see the email address you used to create your Acronis account.  To the right of that you will see a small down arrow shape, click to to expand it and from the menu click on Account.  A browser window will open.  If you are prompted to log in, enter your credentials and do so.  Once logged in Protection should function normally.
