Rescue Media Builder thumb drive doesn't allow drives to be shown on Dell laptop

Thread solved

Acronis version 40173 Windows 11 on a Dell Precision 7770. I can make it create rescue media, selecting Windows PE and allowing it to continue to find drivers for 45 minutes and it finally completes.
Booting from this media will not allow me to see any of the laptop's drives. Turning off Raid in BIOS and booting WILL allow the drives to be seen.
I've experienced this before with a previous Dell laptop. Here is the weirdness - booting the Precision 7770 via Acronis 2016 thumb drive which was created via a W10 desktop does allow me to see all laptop drives, no problem WITHOUT needing to change BIOS settings, at all.. I can create and restore images with the 2016 version thumb drive.

Why is this - and how can I update the 2016 thumb drive with this newest version.maybe - or any other solutions are welcome, please.
Thank you.

A question: what type of media is your ATI 2016 thumb drive?  Is it Linux based, or is it WinPE?

If you are not sure, post a listing of the files shown in Explorer for the media.

Hello! It is WIN PE based. Any guidance appreciated. I will gladly post a file listing if you want.

Acronis version 40173 Windows 11 on a Dell Precision 7770. I can make it create rescue media, selecting Windows PE and allowing it to continue to find drivers for 45 minutes and it finally completes.

Can you explain what drivers you are adding here?  The adding of drivers should not take 45 minutes to complete.

Booting from this media will not allow me to see any of the laptop's drives. Turning off Raid in BIOS and booting WILL allow the drives to be seen.

Generally not being able to see storage devices suggests that drivers for those device controllers are missing from the media.  I think that something is going wrong in the previous step of adding device drivers to the WinPE media as again it should not take anywhere near 45 minutes to do so.

Please explain what steps you are taking when adding drivers?

I'm not trying to add drivers, per se - it is Acronis that begins searching by itself.

Tools-->Rescue Media Builder --> Use Windows ADK --> next screen says you can add drivers, but at the same time it begins on its own searching for drivers. Cannot advance to the next step in the process until it finishes.

I agree - it should not take that long, but does. There are similar posts that describe this same behavior, yet the poster's are saying it never completes looking.

I would post the graphic but it won't let me - due to low post cound, I imagine. (Even though I've been a lurking member since '09, back when the board used it's own login - seperate from ones Acronis account)

The Acronis on a desktop that is able to create a well-working WinPE thumb drive is 2019, Build 18100.

OK - this is better - I can post!
Doing the process a second time resulted in a much shorter "search" - maybe about 15 minutes. This is what it finally came up with, and at this time I do not elect to add a folder, just continue.

Yes sir! That is it exactly. There were two graphics cards and I disabled the built in one, leaving the 12GB add-in card.
Thanks for this!

My original condrum (first post) remains; I 'd appreciate any assistance in determing the why and how to either modify the 2019 disk or better - create a working one from the newest version so I don't have to turn off the BIOS raid to see local drives.

Thanks for any assist - I've got a bunch of time in this already but need to see it through.

OK - You hit the nail on the head. Once I was able to add drivers, I did. Will post what and which / how in more detail if someone needs more info.
Essentially, from the DELL site, download the Storage Drivers for my machine, searched by Service Tag - Via Z-Zip, extracted the installation to it's own folder. Then at the point where prompted (I posted above screenshot) I chose to add that folder.
Takes more time to boot - but who cares - IT WORKS - and problem solved.

Glad to hear you were able to solve the issue.  Thanks for posting back.
