True Image 2021 backup error 'Cannot create append manage file'

Thread needs solution

Hello all

My TrueImage 2021 has been happily doing weekly backups of my iTunes folder for the year since I bought it... until December, when it started to return error "Cannot create append manage file".

The weekly backup of another folder continues to work fine.

My PC is W10, & I haven't touched anything on it (other than add some mp3 files to iTunes through the year, incl Dec).

I can find no reference to this error on google or in searching the forums. Is anyone able to tell me what this error means ?

Much obliged,

Tim

Tim, welcome to these public User Forums.

The logs for the failing backup task are the best place to start.

Download a copy of the MVP Assistant log viewer tool and use this to look at the logs to see if they show any issues during the operation process?

You need to be using the new log viewer tool per the link below.
MVP Assistant update for Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (Version 1.1.6.0)

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) or using Cloning then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.

Hello Tim,

I've found similar cases, resolved after creating a new backup plan. If the issue persists, please try to create a new backup task of the same source and see whether it runs. If the new backup works, I'd suggest you using this instead the old backup task. If not, please open a support ticket for the investigation.
