True Image has not found any hard disk drive

Thread needs solution

Trying to back-up a WIn10 PC (that I had previously done successfully on 3 other occasions) by booting up from a Acronis True Image usb. I receive the following error "True Image has not found any hard disk drive". The event code is: 0x000101F4+0x000A01FD. Neither of the codes appear in KB. Under the backup tab, I do not see the PC HD. I can see the Acronis USB as well as the drive used for backup, but the desired PC HD is not shown. Windows boots and runs 100% from what I can see - the desired apps I run, run 24/7 without fail. I did notice when booting Acronis from USB, MBR Error 3 is briefly displayed before the True Image splash screen is shown. I did find a post in KB, but it didn't seem to apply to my scenario. I am not sure if this is related to my problem or if it is a separate problem. Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

David, the most common reason why Acronis bootable rescue media may not see an internal disk drive is due to a lack of required device drivers.

This can be caused by using Linux based media which cannot support drives using RAID or BitLocker.

It can be caused by WinPE media that doesn't have drivers for the latest Intel RST VMD connected drives.

So the real question here is 'what drive does your Win 10 PC have'?

Have you actually used the same Acronis rescue media on this same PC on 3 other occasions, or was that just a general statement that the media has been used on other Win 10 PC's?

One further comment: the BIOS boot mode used by the rescue media must also match that used by the Windows OS on the PC.  Using the incorrect boot mode can also cause the drive not to be seen!  You can use the msinfo32 command to check the BIOS mode used by the OS - this is shown in the right side panel of the report shown.
