Version 39900 update problems

Thread needs solution

Anyone else having problems doing the update to the latest version?

For me it starts OK but never terminates (see screen print) after running for 8 hours.

When I stop this it disables my backup completely - I don't want to go through uninstalling and reinstalling every time there's a product update!

Paul, welcome to these public User Forums.

I have updated two systems so far to the latest ACPHO #39900 version, both offered the update via the normal notification and installed successfully within a few minutes.

I can only suggest downloading the new build directly yourself from the Acronis Product Updates page then retrying the update from the downloaded file (or as a Repair Install).  It can also be downloaded from your Acronis Account download page which will also have a checksum value for the file to allow checking it hasn't been altered etc.

I think I have managed to sort the problem now.

I had already downloaded and tried the new version from the download page but that just hung with no error message.  I also tried to uninstall it but that also failed.  In the end I used a process explorer to kill the 'stuck' Acronis tasks and that allowed the new version to get to the window that offered the repair or install options.  I chose repair and that got ACPHO working again and it has now completed a backup.

I will watch that all scheduled activity behaves correctly over the next few days, but so far everything has checked out OK.
