VSS failing

Thread needs solution

Hi There,

New install of Windows 11 and installed newest version of Acronis. Keep getting these errors. What is strange, is I tried Macruim and its VSS runs fine.  Trying to determine how to fix these errors

Harry,

Did you create a new backup task with the new install of Acronis or did you try to import an existing backup?  If the latter what steps did you take to do so?

I create new backup Task with new install of Acronis. 

I ran sfc /scannow

Tried VSS Doctor but it is old version, I don't know if it works for Windows 11

Gives false results for disk space
 

How do you mean that VSS Doctor gives false results for disk space?  I ran the tool, version 1.1.53.0 downloaded from

I find no issue wit reported disk size.

You might have a look at the old thread below for some general troubleshooting guidance.  The error log you posted shows that the app cannot read the slice - File does not exist.  This suggests that either the source data or the destination location is incorrect or corrupt.
