What's going on with Acronis these days?

Thread needs solution

Boy oh boy. It took me more than 20 seconds to get to this forum waiting for my login to be "approved". When I selected [save] this message so it can be posted, it took another 20+ seconds. What happened to the time when it was almost instant? Oh wait, it must be my internet connection, right?

Acronis decided to change their name which they held for more than 10 years to Acronis Cyber Protect. All I want to know is about their imaging software for consumers. Now they have made things confusing more than ever.

Initially, it seems that management at Acronis are suffering from COVID fatigue, where there is a loss in cognitive function. They seem to be focussed now on cybersecurity, not back-up/imaging software.

I came here (today) because I referred some colleagues to Acronis True Image. I had high praises for it, until now. They couldn't find what I recommended. I had difficulty too.

Now, I'm sure the gaslighters will support Acronis' decision in making things convoluted as an evolution, but in a time when it seems humanity is regressing to medieval times, I say, go away.

It's obviously time to look for another imaging software solution that's not cloud based and that doesn't have a slow as molasses forum efficiency with speeds of 1200 baud.

Unfortunately the Acronis forums have been operating in 'treacle mode' for some days with regular 504 errors due to server timeouts.

With reference to the change of Acronis business direction - True Image is now defunct along with all options for purchasing perpetual licenses!  Acronis have made the decision to move to a subscription only business model along with moving into the Cyber Protect arena!  They will tell anyone who is listening that this is what their users want but the evidence in the forums is that the users visiting here, like yourself, have never asked for this change!

Evidence of the user feelings about these changes can be found in forum topic: Reflecting on a Post-ATI World
