Feature Request: Add backup method that is primarily disk space driven (like Time Machine)
It would be great if a back-up method could be added that is primarily driven by available back-up space.
n the sense that the backup uses the available space on the target (in my case a NAS) to the max. If the space runs out, old backups of files will start to be deleted, but in such a way that at least a copy of each file will be retained if possible. If that is not possible, the oldest files will be deleted to make space.
In a sense, this is very much how Apple's Time Machine works. And while TM is not perfect, I liked this set-and-forget method of backing up.
Currently, I have to tweak my back-up settings a lot, because I keep running out of disk space. Even though my source (about 650gb) easily fits the available disk space on my NAS (2tb), for at least one copy of each file that is.
However, if the back-up now - say - wants to backup a 3rd version of a file, and that backup does not have enough space to do so, the backup fails and stops backing-up. That is, until I have performed a manual clean-up. After which I tweak the backup and cleanup settings some more, and try again.
Eventually I will probably get to settings that work, but it feels very cumbersome!

Hello Bjorn,
It's a prerequisite for product usage to have free space on your drives. If you set one drive as the primary destination and it's full, the backup will fail by default.
At the moment, there isn't any feature request for that, but I will pass the message to the team.
Thanks in advance!
