1. Bootable Media Builder not available 2. DD10 deleted after Install of DD12

Thread needs solution

1. I used at first a test version, then the key.

But bootable media builder is not available. Why ?? Can I change this ??

Or no more available in DD12 ??

2.

DD10 is deleted after install of DD12.

But I would like to use is too, e.g. chkdsk has 3 options, test, test and repair file system, test and repair file system and sectors.

In DD12 I only see test, I dont like this, and sometimes whole option takes too much time and some users at first only want to see faults and then decide what to to.

How can I get bootable media builder ??

Even I dont see change file system in DD12, nor change logical to primary or vice versa !

Hello SurgeonX1,

I suggest that you do a clean install of Acronis Disk Director 12: 1) follow https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 and run a cleanup tool,  2) reboot the computer and 3) install Acronis Disk Director 12.

Please note that the cleanup tool removes not only the Disk Director, but other Acronis programs too, like Acronis True Image, Drive Monitor etc.

After installing Acronis Disk Director 12 anew, you will be able to access the bootable media builder from any of these locations:

1) Windows Start menu - All programs - Acronis - DiskDirector - Run Bootable Media Builder

2) Left side bar in Acronis Disk Director 12

3) drop-down menu Tools in the upper part of the program

4) you can also start the media builder by running the file MediaBuilder.exe from the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilder\"

As for your question about keeping both 10 and 12 versions - any Acronis product, not just Disk Director, always overwrites the previous version. It is just how the installation is supposed to work in Acronis products - the older version is got overwritten by a newer version. Of course, you can keep your Acronis Disk Director 10 bootable media and use it when needed.

Slava
