DD and OSS don't support Windows 7. I assume you installed build (2,160) since it did install (unless you installed from the DD/OSS CD).

If you have the OSS programs on the DD CD, you can select the Install OSS option and then force an uninstall. You can't force an uninstall from Windows if no OS is detected.

If you have a standard Windows 7 DVD or Repair Disc, you can boot it, select to Repair your computer, cancel any automatic repairs, start the Command Prompt, and run bootrec /fixmbr to remove OSS from the MBR.

Thanks, MudCrab ...

Your tip on using bootrec/fixmbr helped to solve my problem and restored my system to its original state !!! I have subsequently removed Acronis DD and OSS from my system. My laptop is working fine now.

I looked up bootrec/fixmbr, and using it requires some use of the keyboard. I have no use of the keyboard.

This is about 3 1/2 years later, and I do not see a fix for Starting Acronis Loader coming up at every start and freezing the keyboard.

Does anyone here have a fix?
