Acronis DD11 merged disks

Thread needs solution

I used the DD11 merge function to combine drive c: and d: on the same drive, thus making C: larger. DD11 combined the two, but left a small portion on the D: with a couple of files. I can live with that, however, DD11 shows the C: drive as having become larger but Win 7 shows the drives as being the same size as before. Any ideas?

Problem solved: It seems that I was working on a clone that was not made by acronis. Apparently, Acronis Disk director 11 does not play well with other products, or the other software put markers on the partitions that was not undestood by Acronis. To solve the problem, I re-formatted the disk and using Acronis True Image 11 Boot Disk, I made a fresh clone of the disk I was trying to merge. This clone was made on a USB device, (BlacX). Using Acronis Disk Director 11, I successfully merged the 3 partitions on the clone. The clone was swapped into the laptop and booted fine with one partition (3merged) and Win 7 saw the drive as one partition.

Others have reported similar problems with the partition sizes being different between Windows and DD. There is probably a certain configuration or error (probably minor) that causes this. As far as I know, the fact that the drive was cloned using non-Acronis software shouldn't have been a problem.
