Acronis Disk Director Home 11 - Dell Dimension 8400 MBR Repair

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I wonder if you can please help me regarding the above issue.

PC System:
- Running Windows XP Pro SP3 on a Dell Dimension 8400 (3.4GHz CPU with HyperThreading active, 3GB DDR memory, SATA500GB HDD, 2x DVD Rewriters).
- Please refer to Disk 1 with see the attached screenshot below which refers to the issue / partition layout and description of the SATA500GB HDD.
- Please IGNORE Disk 2 which is an slightly out-of-date backup of the main Disk 1.
- The local volume partition on Disk 1 contains the Dell Utility program, whilst the DELLRESTORE partition contains the factory Recovery Win XP Pro partition accessed by F11 (I think)..

Technical Issue:
- When booting the Dimension 8400, a message after the main Dell LOGO screen, "Loading PBR Descriptor 2 Done" appears and intermittently the system "hangs" (ie. black screen). In order to minimise any data corruption, I reload a last / recent TrueImage Home 2011 backup disk image copy onto the PC.
- During booting, I also noticed that accessing the BIOS screen (F2) is also much slower.
- According to various Google searches, it appears that the MBR may be corrupt and needs to repaired.
- I still have the "old" separate previous SATA HDD 's (not connected to the PC) which contain an exact DUPLICATE copy of the portion layout found on the SATA500GB HDD.
- I think that the other non-OS partition(s) may been using WinImage??
- Can you please kindly advise on how to repair the MBR (if this is the case), using Disk Director Home 11 using the above supplied technical information.

Many thanks in advance, for all your help.
With kind regards
