ADDH11 Upgrade Build 2121 won't run on 64 bit Win7 Ultimate
Hi,
I recently installed the patched ADDH11.2121 and have not been able to run it at all. I have a 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate installation running on a Dell Studio laptop model 1747 with 8GB memory and a Core I7-740QM proc. I do have ABR10 .0.2497 installed. The previous ADDH11 release ran just fine. I've attached a copy of the Windows 7 event log to this message in .txt format.
Additional question. Just what advantages would there be to the ADD11 Advanced Workstation package just released over this Home version. And if there was any worth having, how do I complete an upgrade.

No, I am running the English version. Thanks for telling me that a fix is due soon. Initially I had thought it to be an install problem so I went through the uninstall-scrub-reinstall loop to see if that solved the issue. As you can see, it did not.
Are you suggesting when you you say "...versions didn't work together..." that the matter is an incompatibility between ABR10 and ADDH11?

Yes, it seems that the two programs are incompatible. I tried one thing: I shut down the management server-service and then DD 11.2121 worked fine. But i don't think that this can be the solution...

Same here, when starting ADDH11: "Disk director 11 management console has stopped working").
I have ADDH11 + ABR10 workstation installed, use W7 64bit Enterprise, and updated them to the latest builds (2121 and 12497). As mentioned in the previous msg, by stopping "Acronis Managed machine service" before starting ADDH11, the problem is away. Agree, it's not really a solution. I don't dare to ask about compatibility of TIBs ...

I think the problem is a race condition between the two services loading or between another service loading and the MMS service.
I might run sysinternals at some time to see the loading priority of these.
There could be a workaround in W7 by setting MMS to delayed start in Services, or by having them disabled and have a Windows task that starts them up via a cmd file using the net start command.

I'm having the same problem (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with Acronis Backup and Reccovery 10 Workstation installed) and wonder when we can expect a proper solution? Failing that, has anyone found a more satisfying workaround?

Hi Michael,
yes my solution was to purchase DD workstation and put DD home to trash. Since some years, the home product releases have often massive bugs -- And if I remember well from a former support request, where I got the advice to not mix home product items or resulting files with items from the enterprise product line.

Hmm... I'll give that a try. Thank you (though I wish Acronis would fix this problem).

Michael - just for completion: ABR workstation 11 (12497) and DD 11 workstation (12077) coexist peacefully on my Win-7-64bit. Only, when starting ABR, it tells my about a conflict (see attachment), but both run properly, as far as i can see. Well, one more issue to fix ...
... and a general advice: before installing a new version of any Acronis backup product, check if older TIB files are still readable !!! Does anyone know of a compatibility matrix by product line and product version?
Best, Freddy
