After cloning a 1TB disk to a 2TB new disk I have 23 GB left over?

 I recently did a simple clone of a basic storage disk from 1Tb to a brand new 2TB drive using DD 12.5, everything appeared to go well no errors or other things. 

 The disk showed fine in DD 12.5 after cloning.

 After shutting down and removing the old disk and replacing it with the new one, and rebooting, DD 12.5 now shows an EXTRA "Local Volume" healthy 23.6GB disk, not formatted? It has to be from the cloning because it was not there before.

 Also my cloned disk is 1.819TB in size.

I used the standard default settings for cloning

 Is this normal?

 How do I fix this?
