Black Screen after converting Dynamic Disk Back to Basic

Thread needs solution

I have a Win2003 SP2 pc with Acronis Disk Director Advanced Server 11 installed. (ADD for short)

The config is below: (originally all dynamic)
Disk 1(320GB)
  Volume 1 (C:, 120GB)
  Volume 2 (D:, 200GB)
Disk 2(500GB)
  Volume 1 (Mirror of C:, 120GB)
  Unallocated

I want to convert all the disks back to basic. First I deleted the mirror and converted Disk 2 back to basic, then moved partition D: from Disk 1 to Disk 2.

Next I want to convert the Disk 1 back to basic and use all space of Disk 1. The problem is that when the convert process is complete and reboot, the screen is black with flashing cursor after POST.

I've tried using the following:
  fixboot: the same black screen
fixmbr: message "Unable to load operating system" after POST.
chkdsk: report some errors fixed but still no luck.

The Disk 1 have been converted to dynamic twice. I can convert Disk 1 back to basic disk successfully last time, although it took very long time to complete (maybe it's because there are 2 volumes to convert?). But this time the conversion is relatively fast.

And one more thing to note is that after using fixboot and fixmbr I tried to restore C: from a backup of Disk 1 using Symantec System Recovery 2011, which contains all data of Disk 1 including MBR. The backup is made before I start converting Disk 1 to dynamic disk for the second time. After restore I can boot to windows normally, but when I expanded Volume 1 using ADD, the same problem occurred after the process.

Why did this happen? And how do I fix it? I thought there maybe some kind of incorrect data in MBR but don't know how to make sure.
