Bootable media hangs after BIOS-Update

Thread needs solution

I flashed a new Bios for my MSI 870A-G54. I tried to do a backup. Acronis loader starts, OSS let me choose Acronis, welcome screen appears and goes away, cursor blinks for a few seconds and then I have a blank screen. I must restart my machine. What can I do?

i purchased Acronis DD 11 today and am having problems with bootable media...of course.

anyhow i have same problem as guy above.
here is some of my specs

msi 890gxm-g65 with latest bios
i have tried to use my onboard video amd 4290 and i have a dedicated nvidia gts 250
i have tried both the vga outs and hdmi outs on both video cards conneted to my 42" vizio lcd tv

both have the same result as the guy above me.

i thought there was another version we could download after we created our accounts (like what you can do with ATIH)...isnt it like isolinux or something?

anyhow im stuck at the BLANK/BLACK screen...whatever you want to call it.

anyhow is this ever going to be fixed?
isnt there a different version with an updated KERNEL like there is for ATIH?

nunyer business:

Acronis stopped furnishing alternate versions of the boot media based on Isolinux. The download on the Acronis web site is now the same as the Linux-based boot media that you create from within the program using Bootable Media Builder.

With DD 11 you can make bootable media based on Windows PE instead of Linux. WinPE boot media has the most extensive driver library, especially if you use version 3.0 of the downloadable Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) from Microsoft; the one based on the Windows 7 library.

Most likely this will solve your hardware problems.

i cant wait until someone figures out how to create/delete and resize partitions in linux....
then we can just get a live cd and do it all for free.

i pay for this crap and it still dont work

Umm... that's been figured out for years. Check out PartedMagic, for example, or GParted...

However, if the Live CDs don't have Linux drivers to support your hardware then you have the same problem that you're having with DD 11. Windows is more likely to have support since manufacturers always release a Windows driver with new hardware, so WinPE is your best bet if none of the Linux packages work for you.

ahh let me explain

my hardware was just working with TIH 2011 and DD 11 up until a few weeks ago.
i did a bios update and i sold me ati 5870 and now it dont work

so its either the video card that i am currently using (nvidia gts250 or my onboard amd 4290) that is causing it.

so acronis is broke because it dont have the driver for my gts250 from what is it 3 years ago?
i could possibly understand for my onbaord video but for my gts250?
wth is really going on?

I payed for the program and have to create a version that does what Acronis says in their product describtion? Downloadng somerhing here and another there?
For both, DD11 and TI home 2011? Wondrously world.
