Cannot reassign drive letters for external USB flash drives

Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, DD 11 Home Build 11.0.2121

Windows has done its usual thing of suddenly and apparently without reason reassigning my flash drive letters (they haven't been removed recently either).

As I use a backup method which relies on the correct drive letters (each flash is different capacity etc.), I wanted to change the letters back to what they were.

This option doesn't appear for these drives in DD, although it does for other SATA devices.

I haven't needed to try to reassign for flash drives, so I'd like to know:-
1) whether DD letter reassign doesn't work for what I'm trying to do by design
2) If it SHOULD work, then what's the problem?

It would appear that DD 11 won't change the drive letter of flash drives, though I don't know why Acronis would "block" the feature. You should be able to use Disk Management to make the necessary changes.
