Can't convert dynamic volume to basic using DD 11!

Thread needs solution

I bought DD 11 tonight because I needed to convert a dynamic disk into a basic disk. Your sales material says I can convert to or from dynamic & basic. When I fire DD 11 up, it shows all 3 of my disks, including the dynamic one, but I can't right-click to convert to basic. I had two partitions on the drive and accidently I converted to dynamic using Win7 Home Premium. I can access the data on both the F: drive and H: drive, but Acronis Home Image 2010 doesn't see the dynamic partitions, so I can't do any backups any more. I have attached the screen of DD 11.

HELP, HELP, HELP!

Have you also tried it from the DD CD? Boot to it and change the Disk layout to Bootable media layout. Then see if you can convert the Dynamic Disk back to Basic.

No, I'm not sure why I would have Ever thought to do that, but at your suggestion I created a Recovery CD and ran it. Of course I got the same result...No Convert to basic option on the Dynamic drive.

After much ado...time spent re-backing up everything to a portable USB drive for both partitions, I proceeded to delete the 2 partitions on the Dynamic disk using the boot-able DD 11. When I deleted one drive (my F drive), I finally noted I could convert to basic, but only with the ONE partition still left on the Dynamic drive. Not a very cool thing to find! Sure wish Acronis would fix this as it was a BIG PROBLEM to me.

Did you change the Disk layout option? The choice to convert didn't show up for me unless it was on Bootable media layout.
