Can't find Absolute Sector value for logical partition

Thread solved

Hi,

When I use Disk Director 11, there is no 'absolute sector' value shown when editing a partition which used to be shown for Disk Director 10. I need this value so that I can boot into a WinXP partition on a logical drive.

For some reason, my Disk Director 10 boot disk would crash when I tried to edit a partition. I was using v2288. I've got 640GB disk which I've split into several partitions which contains Windows 7 and XP. It used to work fine so I'm not sure why it doesn't anymore.

For this reason I bought Disk Director 11 and I used the provided ISO file to create a boot disk. This works in that nothing crashed and I can edit a partition. However, this does not display the 'absolute sector' value.

Thanks

Mohammed

You should still be able to get to it using the partition tables. Just select to edit the disk and then view as a partition table. Then find the Logical partition entry and view its data. If it's further down the chain click the ENTER button on the entry to go to the next one. You'll have to change back to partition table view (F6) after each one since it defaults to hex.

Otherwise, did you try the Safe Mode version of DD 10? I actually perfer it for its speed in booting when doing simple procedures.
