Can't run second OS

Thread needs solution

Okay I'm using windows 7, I'm trying to install Windows XP. I create a partition, make it primary and set it to active. I reboot I am able to successfully install it. I run my XP from the OS selector, its shows the Windows XP splashscreen, then the screen quickly turns blue and my PC restarts back to OS selector. What am I doing wrong?

Can you post a copy of the BOOTWIZ.OSS file (instructions can be found here)?

Is the XP partition set correctly in its OSS menu entry? It should be Active and not hidden. If it's hidden it causes a problem. I can tell if this is the problem by looking at the BOOTWIZ.OSS file.

It could be a BSOD. The default action is to reboot and this makes it difficult to see the code. Can you get into the Safe Mode version of Windows?

Did XP install normally? Were any special drivers required (F6 on install, for example)?
