Can't uninstall Disc director suit
I'd like to uninstall Disc director suit from my Vista 32 OS but not able to do so. To run programm is as well not possible. To install latest build also negative.
There is something wrong on Acronis OS Selector-Modul.
Can someone assist?

Excuse me.. may i ask something? (it's kinda OOT though) cause i don't know how to start a post yet.
I tried to uninstall Disk Director 10 from my friends notebook with Vista home premium installed. but then whenever it tried to log on to windows, it crash (Blue Screen).
I've tried vista's repair CD but it doesn't work.

Can you press F8 when Windows is just starting and get the Safe Mode menu? If so, you could try the Last Known Good Configuration option.
If you just tried doing a normal uninstall, you could try using the Clean Up Utility program. You might want to make a backup of the drive before trying again.

i have tried enter Safe Mode and Last Known Good Configuration but neither is working..
i have also tried Acronis CleanUp, but the problem persist..
Then i press F8 and choose one of the option (the one which prevent automatic restart after crash) to let me see the Blue Screen Error. And i found that the Error comment is :
STOP : 0x0000007B
i try googling it, and it said that it's an error that have to do with some AHCI sata setting and some suggest to switch it off.. The problem is, those solution suggest using regedit utility, unfortunately i can't even get to logon to Windows..
any idea?

Did the computer have the BSOD before you tried the Clean Up Utility? You said you tried it, but you also say you can't boot into Windows.
The BSOD is because the snapman driver didn't get removed correctly.
Do you have a backup image from before the problem?
If you have System Restore enabled, have you tried using the Vista DVD and using a restore point?
Is TI installed too or just DD?

I have the same issue. Vista Home Premium SP2 fully patched Acronis Disk Director 10 installed. Just purchased version 11 and it stated I needed to uninstall version 10 before installing 11. Attempted doing so running uninstall. BSOD after reboot. Restored system with a recent Ghost image and attempted to manually uninstall version 10 hacking the registry and deleting files and same result. What is up with all of this? Looks like Acronis corrupted the MBR or a key part of the OS. Would love to hear any solution.

Hello,
MudCrab, thanks for your help.
Gene, please accept our apologies for the difficulties you've experienced.
I may suggest you to install Acronis Disk Director 11 Home over the existing installation of the previous version. In this case Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 will be automatically removed and the existing Acronis OS Selector will also be automatically deactivated and removed.
Please have a look at this KB article to have a detailed guide on how to install the software.
Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.

I have already tired that. Here are the steps that I had taken (33 years in the computer business myself - networks, PCs, Servers...)
1. Run uninstall - Blue screen after reboot
2. Restore system from Ghost and manually uninstall application (regedit and deleting files) - Blue screen after reboot.
3. Restore system from Ghost - Install version 11 over version 10 - Same result - Blue screen after reboot.
4. Restore system from Ghost - Run full Chkdsk of C partition, disconnection all external hard drives, disable all AV (Trend & Defender), disable AD-AWARE, install version 11 over version 10 - Same result - Blue screen after reboot.
5. Booted with emergency CD and searched for dump files after the last crash - none created, it never got into windows.
Here is the error at boot:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. The fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, then click “Next.”
3. Click “Repair your computer”.
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacture for assistance

Working with your support team on the item 5 above. A very nice tech by the name of Tripti Goel: The case number for further communication on the issue is 00808716
There seems to be a lot of people with the same issue. Over 300 reads of this thread. And a lot of posts on the Internet. None have a solution other than reinstalling windows. That is not an option.
