Change the "Letter" of USB-Sticks - how to?

Thread needs solution

Hi together,

I've two issues:

  • A not configured USB-Drive cannot be recogniced by DD12.5, it announced an error. So I was forced to initiate it by using WIN!?
DD12.5 is a pro-program, why does it not initiate USB-Drives?
  • I'd like to switch the letter of an USB. Why can't I find this operation?
How to do this? (See screenshot)

Thanx in Advance! MfD

Hello Manfred,

Sorry to know about your issues! Disk initialization should be available for the newly added disks.

The newly detected disks appear in the disks and volumes list as Not initialized. To initialize a disk or disks Right-click the newly added disk and then click Initialize. In the Disk Initialization window, select the other not initialized disks (if there are several), and set the disk partitioning scheme (MBR or GPT) and the disk type (basic or dynamic) for every selected disk. Click OK to add the pending disk initialization operation.

If this procedure doesn't work, I'd recommend raising a support ticket for investigation.

Regarding changing the volume letter - did you right-click on the volume? A drop-down list should be displayed like on a screenshot below
