Cloned Win 10 system drive has no Convert to GPT option

Thread needs solution

The currently running OS SSD was cloned to a new drive using Acronis True Image 2016 from Rescue Media. The cloned drive now appears as Disk 4 in Disk Director 12 (full license, not trial).

However, this Disk 4 has no right click menu option to "Convert to GPT," whereas another non-system SSD, Disk 3, has this menu option.

Since Disk 4 isn't the currently running operating system, this statement from the DD12 User Guide suggests that it should be possible to convert it: "DD12 User Guide says, "Important: The basic MBR disk that contains the boot volume with the currently running operating system cannot be converted to GPT."

Once converted to GPT, I'd like to convert the new SSD to a dynamic disk and mirror it as indicated in the User Guide: " Add fault-tolerance to your system and data, by mirroring a volume—such as the one with the operating system—to another disk. If a disk with one of these mirrors fails, no data will be lost on such volume. "

Hello cattledogit,

The most effective way to resolve the issue would be to let Acronis Customer Central work on it. Symptoms that you have described seem similar to one known issue in the product, but that needs to be checked in more details.
