Cloning full HDD with system as a partition of other HDD

Thread needs solution

I have two HDD drives - on C:\ (whole Hitachi HDS721050CLA362 (465 Gb) without partitions) is Windows 8.1 x64 with a bit of installed programs, on D:\ (whole WDC WD1003FBYZ-010FB0 (931 Gb) without partitions) I store films, music and other necessary for me files.

To clone my C:\ partition I need to do these steps:

1) Cut approx. 200 Gb on WDC WD1003FBYZ-010FB0
2) Delete new F:\ partition to make 200 Gb marked as 'Unallocated'
3) Select my C:\ and make copy to these unallocated space (it will be non-bootable)
4) Then I remove Hitachi from my computer and boot from Acronis bootable flash drive
5) Make new partition with copied system & files 'Active' and attach C:\ drive letter for partition

I read, I also needs if necessary to do bootrec.exe /FixMBR, bootrec.exe /FixBoot, bootrec.exe /RebuildBCD or bcdboot.exe c:\windows

Is these steps are correct (without any lost of my files)?

Hi Alexander,
thank you for your question.
According to our user guide it is not recommended to copy the system partition, however, the described should bring you the desired result.
I would recommend to create a system backup before starting the operation to guarantee data safety.
Thank you,
