Coming to a fork in the road

Thread needs solution

I am in the market for a Windows7 compatible disk partitioning software and spent a fair amount of time researching options. Some of the options are free ones and some like Disk Director are paid versions of software. As a current owner of Disk Director 10 I could upgrade to version 11 for $30. However for $10 less I can purchase a full version of a disk partitioner which only charges $10 for upgrades to the next major version. I have used their free version for a while without problems with Windows7.

I am hesistant to spend anything more on Disk Director due to two things. The cost of the upgrade and length of time that it took Acronis to get a Windows7 version of Disk Director to market. A disk partitioner is one piece of software that one needs reliability and I am concerned that there are bugs lurking in Disk Director 11.

Hello PC Guy!

Thank you very much for the feedback, it is really valuable for us. I have already forwarded your comment to the Management Team for them to be aware of the situation.

I completely understand your concern and point of view. I just wanted to mention that there's no need to purchase the software in order to see whether it suits you or not. You can test the solution free of charge to see whether it will do all you need. You can find the demo version here.

The demo version has the following limitations:

  • All operations can be performed on volumes whose initial and resulting size is not larger than 100 MB. Operations on volumes whose size is larger than 100 MB cannot be committed;
  • Demo version of Acronis Disk Director 11 Home is not time limited;
  • Trial version of Acronis OS Selector is fully functional;
  • Trial version of Acronis OS Selector is limited to 15 days from the day of installation. After 15 days, Acronis OS Selector will start on system boot with a 15 second delay and you will only be able to select an operating system to boot. All other functions will be unavailable. In Windows, Acronis OS Selector will also be unavailable after 15 days after the installation.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
