COMPLETE DATA LOSS ON 1 PARTITION - PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thread needs solution

Acronis Disk Director 11 Home (build 11.0.2121)
Windows 7 x64

Converted primary partition to logical, no error messages, nothing to indicate any form of data loss. Process completed successfully. Closed down Disk Director. Windows reports the partition is not formatted, started Windows Explorer which cannot see anything on that partition. Restarted computer, still the same.

SOOO ANGRY RIGHT NOW!! Been a loyal, paying Acronis customer for a long time but continue to have MAJOR problems like this with latest versions. Not a brand that can be relied on any longer i dont feel.

What can I do to get all my data back on that partition?

I cannot convert this partition back to primary. The majority of operations in DD11 are no longer available. I am very hesitant to do anything with the volume that will hamper any data recovery.

There is always the chance of data loss when making partitioning changes. It's recommended to create an Entire Disk Image backup first.

Did you make any other changes to the partition in addition to the conversion? For example, did you also resize it?

If the data is important, you should create a backup image of the drive and include everything (sector-by-sector + unallocated) before trying any recovery procedures.

You might be able to delete the Logical partition and then have DD search for deleted partitions. It may be able to find the original Primary partition and restore it. Otherwise, you're probably going to need to run some recovery software (partition, format, file, etc.) and see if anything shows up.
