Computer won't boot after using OS Selector

Thread needs solution

I have a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop and I installed Acronis 2005 Disk thing because I googled the Partition tool and could only find a link on some website. Well I installed it, and it asked for reboot. Then the Acronis tool with the Windows XP scheme came up, and said Unknown OS or something. I clicked on that, and then I was brought to a black screen that said Remove media Press any key to reboot. I restarted then deactivated the tool, then it just brought me straight to the black screen again. I can't even run my 64-bit windows xp cd because the CD tells me there's something wrong with the harddrive. And I can't run chkdsk because nothing other than the boot menu works. And I even reset the boot menu to factory defaults. What do I do?

Hello Eric,

Thank you for posting. I will definitely assist you.

I would really appreciate if you can clarify which version of Acronis Disk Director you were using because we do not have version 2005. Most likely this issue is caused by a corrupt master boot record, please check the following article on how to repair it and if the issue persists please collect Acronis Report 51 and contact our Support team. I am confident that we can resolve this issue.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
